Solar-based YEKA will be allocated with the competition

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will organize a competition to allocate the right to use the fields designated in the Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA) with a total power of one thousand MWe based on the sun in Sanliurfa, Hatay and Niğde for a period of 30 years.

As a result of the competition, the right to use the related Renewable Energy Resource Areas (YEKA) with their connection capacities to be 500 MWe in Sanliurfa-Viransehir, 200 MWe in Hatay-Erzin and 300 MWe in Niğde-Bor will be allocated for a period of 30 years.

Terms of Participation

Only business partnerships or consortiums established by a legal entity or more than one legal entity will be able to apply for competitions. The specification fee is 5 TL , and if more than one competition is applied for, the specification fee will be deposited separately for each competition. The specification will be available for viewing and procurement at the General Directorate of Energy Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Jul. In any case, the amounts paid to obtain the specification will not be refunded.

Application Information

Applications will be submitted by January 31, 2019 at 12.00, T.C. It will be delivered by hand to the General Directorate of Energy Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Applications to be submitted to the Administration after this date and time will not be evaluated. The examination of the applications will be started at the same date and address at 14.00 and the detailed examination will be started.
The place, date and time of the competitions will be notified to the contestants by the Administration.

Type and Amount of Collateral

A letter of guarantee of $ 3 million for Sanliurfa-Viransehir, $ 1 million 500 thousand for Hatay-Erzin, and $ 2 million for Niğde–Bor will be submitted to the Administration for a final, 1-year period, fully and partially convertible into cash, out of limit, at the application stage.
In case of applying for more than one competition, letters of guarantee arranged in the relevant amount will be given separately for each competition. If the competition is won, the letter of guarantee in the amount of $ 15 million for Sanliurfa – Viransehir, $ 8 million for Hatay – Erzin, $ 12 million for Niğde – Bor will be submitted to the administration for a final, 10-year period, fully and partially convertible, out of limit, by filling out only the relevant sections without any other changes in the format of the letter of guarantee given in the specification no later than 1 day before the date of signing the contract. In this case, the letter of guarantee submitted at the application stage will be returned.
